when to use the future simple?

Form and uses of the simple future tense in English

Simple future Tense
Form Subject + Will + Base Verb + Object
Use (1) We use will + base form for the future.
Examples (a) She will be a good student.
(b) This book will help you.
(c) Video games will waste your time.
Use (1.1) We can use shall with the pronouns I and we
Examples (e) We shall do our homeworks together. .
(f) I shall lend you my computer.
(g) I shall go to the market..
Use (2) It is used to express intention at the moment of decision
Examples (h) The phone is ringing. ~ I'll answer it.
(i) Ousama (to waiter): I'll have a cup of tea, please. (would like is also possible)
(j) Don't worry. I'll drive you.
(k) I'll do my homework tonight.
Use (2.1) NB. If after his decision the speaker mentions the action again, he will use be going to or the present continuous
Examples For example, imagine that to (i) above a friend, Adil, joins Ousama before his drink has arrived:
ADIL: What are you having/going to have?
OUSAMA: I'm having/going to have a cup of tea.
Similarly, at a later time, in:
(j) Mary might say: Ahmed is driving me /going to drive me to the airport tonight. .
(k) Hind, however, could only say:
I'm going to answer these letters tonight. (She hasn't made an arrangement with anybody.)
